Summer time fishing!

The summer time can be a challenging time of year to fish here on the West Coast of Florida. Lots of unpredictable storms, fish can be finicky when the water warms up, and it's just plain HOT out! My secret to summertime fishing is of course, check your local future radar the morning of and make sure you don't get caught in one of those nasty storms. Second, get out early. Seems for me the bite pretty much shuts down after 12 noon. As always feed the bigger fish a SnappaSlappa jig. Seems when they get picky, the best way to get a big Red Snapper to eat, is to drift down a big chunk or live bait on a jig. This also works on the big Mangos as well. Let's be honest, there's nothing better than getting a big Snapper on spinning gear and a jighead! till next time tight lines!
